When he opened the door, the red light of the setting sun frame him and his long dark shadow stabbed across the floor toward her. Clad as he was in black, it was impossible to see where he ended and the shadow began, so to Malon he looked even more massive than ever, like one of those mountain giants in the bedtime stories she heard as a girl.
