[livejournal.com profile] o_chibi_chan finally finished "The Shape of His Heart," which is by far the greatest, funniest, epic-ist Final Fantasy X story out there. No, the greatest Final Fantasy story. No wait, screw that. GREATEST STORY OF ALL TIME.

I'm too fangirly right now to give it a proper review, but let me try to channel my flailing and squealing into some sort of coherent paragraph. Ahem.

OH MY GOD IT'S AWESOME.

Rikku is off-the-wall, but she's so wise and deep. Everything she says is spot-on perfect - all energy and moxie and brains - she's happy, really happy, even though she can see and understand and feel all the pain in Spira. And Auron - wow. Auron's transformation is so realistic, so smooth. There's nothing forced about his change. He plods toward it with typical Auron determination, and when he reaches it - Wow. Wow wow wow.

TSoHH was a huge influence on my writing, and it also indirectly introduced me to Final Fantasy VII. Through Gabi-hime (which is her pen name over at FF.net), I discovered Guardian1, who wrote "Tastes Like Green," my favorite Yuffie-centric story. I've based my interpretations of Rikku and Yuffie almost completely on these two authors.

Wow.

...Gonna go read the whole thing through again.

You're welcome! Thank you for writing such an awesome story! I'm so glad you finished it; it's been one of my favorite pieces of fanfic through the years, and getting to see its conclusion made me really, ridiculously happy.

Would it be possible to read some of your original fics? You mentioned that you wrote something with a taciturn dude in red - Definitely interested in reading that!

:D :D :D

I am always delighted to find someone to inflict my stories upon share my stories with!

I think this (http://chibimoon.net/archive/viewstory.php?sid=126) is a good place to start. It is not the beginning in a chronological sense, but in another way it is entirely the beginning. And this (http://chibimoon.net/archive/viewstory.php?sid=189) is the story that comes directly after it.

Otherwise, if you want to read something lengthy that I wrote with Guardian some years ago I suggest you check out And Babylon Fell (http://chibimoon.net/babylon/), which I still look at fondly. They all follow the same characters, as all of my work does. Babylon happens after both of the stories I linked you up there.

And since you like Yuffie, you might like a story that features my universe's Yuffie, Saradel (http://chibimoon.net/archive/viewstory.php?sid=172) XD.

And finally, this is what I'm writing currently (http://www.chibimoon.net/dancing.rtf) (outside of the next part of the Shape Universe). You'll want to right click and save-as that one, since it's an RTF. Chrome loads it all mega-weird.

Anyway, I know it might seem completely overwhelming at first, but I promise the story is worth reading, and you're meant to get to know the characters over time :) I've written thousands of pages about them and am so tickled to be able to share them with someone else.

(P.S. The guy in red you're on the look-out for is Duriel (http://chibimoon.net/gallery/sp_index.php?file=./angels/angels%20group/Gabriel%20and%20Duriel/Holy%20War/Ecstacy_Is_All_You_Need_by_Gabi_hime.jpg).

If, when you've read a little, you'd like to share any thoughts I'd love to hear them :)

And thank you so much again for being so kind about my work, Final Fantasy and otherwise :3

Excellent - Thank you so much for the links! I can't wait to read all the stories!

I've got to gush again about TSoHH: Awesome. The twists of Rikku's language are my favorite parts. She turns phrases around and her metaphors are just so fresh, so crazy that they have to work. And they do! Like "my sunlight-easy steps" and "I loved her then more than I had before, and that's like adding to a number already too big to write in scientific notation" and "the candles sweat themselves down into stubs," which isn't even a metaphor. But still awesome.

Thanks again for the links!

Hi! Not to sound like a nutcase -- or at least, a total nutcase -- but I was reading your fics recently, and in a lapse of Digimon-related nostalgia, found your LJ and saw that you still seem to be in the fandom?

Basically, I miss the fandom like whoa, and as a huge huge Daisuke/Ken fangirl, I was wondering if you were up for a chat? Or something along those lines, anyway. XD I'm probably making an idiot out of myself. FEEL FREE TO IGNORE THIS.
