1. Daisuke x Ken (Digimon)
My all-time favorite ship. It's been years since I first readherongale's "Reflections" but my love for this pair has yet to fade. Daisuke and Ken are so damn perfect together! I love them separately as characters, too: Daisuke the cuddly, innocent yet devious gogglehead and Ken the serious, angsty, sometimes deadly genius - awesome.
2. Ganondorf x Malon (Zelda)
There's something about May/December romances that make me all squishy inside. Besides that, I like the doomed nature of their relationship. Instead of a happy ending, Malon must accept that her lover will succumb to the dark side, as it were, and fall at the hands of her best friend. She has to learn to put the needs of her country before her own desires. Yay for self-sacrificing!
3. Taichi x Yamato (Digimon)
An oldie but a goodie. Again these two seem so naturally perfect for one another. I've never liked stories where a character is forced into a singular role (i.e. the helpless damsel, the agressive hero, etc) and because both Taichi and Yamato are capable of being semes and uke, I find that they are more well-rounded and realistic characters. Besides, both of them are hot.
4. Rikku x Auron (Final Fantasy X)
Another example of my May/December obsession. Auron is a sexy tortured soul who isn't capable of truly living. Rikku's a fiery rippersnapper who finds joy in everything. TOgether they're the dynamic duo of polar opposites.o_chibi_chan writes them as they should be written... awesomely.
5. John Mayer x Ryan Adams
The great thing about John is that I can stick him with anyone and it practically always works out. However, he and Ryan make a cutely dysfunctional couple that tends to make me break out in girlish giggles of delight.
6. Hermione x Ron (Harry Potter)
Awww... Too cute for words.
7. Yamato x Takeru (Digimon)
Mmm.... Incest. Yamato = hot. Takeru = hot. YamatoxTakeru = hot squared. Yamato tends to be uber depressed and artsy in these fics, but a suffering musician is always delicious.
8. Batman x Catwoman (DC)
Again that doomed aspect of their relationship is part of the appeal. Bruce can never let Selena completely into his life nor can he forgive her for her crimes. Selena will never stop being a thief, no matter who gets hurt.
