true story
Jan. 3rd, 2004 03:46 pmI finished the drawing not without a swelling of pride. yes, it was ugly and yes, it was childish, but it was mine and it had taken a while and by gum and golly I was going to show it off.
Without thinking I pressed the 'scan' button on my new printer and it took a second for my sluggish mind to comprehend the silence: the machine hadn't been turned on yet. So while one finger found and pressed the 'on' button the other prepared the artwork for scanning.
It was then that the world collapsed. Well, perhaps not the world, but at least the printer exploded. Perhaps not exploded, per say, but it made a weird noise.
It was like dinosaurs started to tapdance, or maybe it was the sound of a truck running over a thousand speed bumps, but whatever its classification, the noise was loud and annoying.
And it meant the new, virgin printer, was busted.
