So our Kaiser was really my Ken, I stood in unshakeable awe for at least a full three seconds before my courage and foolhardiness shifted me into full gear. “You’ll never get away with this! I won’t let you win!”

His eyes snapped blue fire but his smile, a red tear across his face, didn’t falter. “My plan is flawless, my army is devout, my mind is that of a genius. But do tell,” he was taunting me now, those angel eyes burning into mine, “How will I fail? Please, enlighten me. What have I overlooked?”

“Me.”

I kissed him.
