I was going to recrut him this time. I really was. I'm playing as male so romance isn't an issue, I didn't harden Alistair so it would be easier not to make him king... and then we got to Denerim and had our meeting with Loghain and my Surana *hated him on sight*. He was mean to Eamon, mean to Alistair, mean about the Wardens... and I just don't think I'll be able to go through with it.
On the other hand, I keep hearing that he makes an interesting companion, particularly if you take him to Ostegar (a quest which I'd been saving for after the Landsmeet for this purpose), and I really do want to see the Redeemer ending. So maybe I just have to harden my heart. I managed to support Bhelan and kill Caradin this time through (mostly because my m!Surana is head over heels for Zevran, and he supported both those courses of action), I can do this, right? >.> I can always go back and fix it later...
