Not at all! I felt ridiculously guilty for the rest of the game, and then seeing Alistair in DA2 nearly broke my heart.
These games make it so hard to play evil. I just love the characters so. damn. much.
That said - Having secret companion in the party was interesting. His character develops into a sympathetic and fascinating compatriot, and I feel like it added a lot to the lore of Ferelden.
