I steeled my resolve, but I could never disobey Ganondorf; even the simplest commands were met with deference, despite my resolution. I made it difficult for us both, fighting against him was done in vain, but it tried his patience enough to make it worth it. I turned my face toward him and quietly answered, "What would you have me do, my Lord?"
"I'd have you come with me tonight, my Lady."
I looked up sharply at the imitation, but his tone had been neutral, not mocking, and his face was blank. Uncertain of his intentions, I fiddled with the hem of the bedsheet to avoid an imediate answer. "I won't go."
Ganondorf's steps were slow and heavy on the stone floor. Behind me the matress sagged and adjusted to Ganondorf's weight. He pushed my hair off the back of my neck and pressed his lips against my skin. "I want you to be there."
He was venturing again into the catacombs of Hryule; a maze of coffins of the rotting royal family and the Undead which guarded their graves. I had followed him once into the putrid darkness - I couldn't go again. "No."
