She had never taken a bath before. She had learned from her father when she was old enough to wash herself that bathes took too long, were too messy, wasted too much water. She'd stand and dump buckets of water over herself, just like a good farmer. Sometimes, when she had an hour or two to spare, she'd wash in the river (but in her clothes! Those nasty boys from the village would have loved to steal her underthings!), but those trips were rare and far between.

To have a whole room dedicated to the act of bathing was the height of indulgance. To have a private tub was inconceivable. To have a private tub in a whole room dedicated to the act of bathing was unfathomable. To have that tub be filled with hot water and bubbles (bubbles! Imagine that!) was simply impossible.

Finally, Ganondorf thought smugly as he watched the awe-struck Malon, I've found a way to shut that damned mouth of hers.

"I'm in hog heaven," she said at last. Her restraint broken, Malon bent over the tub and dipped her hands in the scented water. Wasn't it every girl's dream to be a princess? Princesses don't say "hog heaven", she corrected herself. A wicked grin tucked at her lips; she wasn't a princess, not even close. Princesses certainly didn't do what she had in mind.
